Rebate programs now closed; Energy-saving opportunities still available
There has been some uncertainty about Energy Efficiency Alberta’s programming over the past few months, and we are now able to provide some clarity. Effective Oct. 24, 2019, our rebate and incentive programs are closed and no longer accepting new applications.
What does this mean for program participants? The specific details for each program’s closure and the timeframes to submit receipts and other documentation are available by program on our website, and in a Quick Reference Summary. Commitments will be honoured and approved applications will continue to be processed for payment. Applications that have not been approved will not be approved, and there is no waitlist.
Our continued focus will be to deliver excellent service to Albertans with approved applications and work toward the design of new programming. And Energy Efficiency Alberta continues to offer the Green Loan Guarantee Program, the Efficiency Professionals Network, Strategic Energy Management and On-site Energy Manager Programs, and diverse training opportunities; develop the Clean Energy Improvement Program (in partnership with Alberta municipalities); and support our nearly 80 grant recipients doing community projects.
We’re proud of what has been accomplished in a short time including:
- $850 million in economic growth
- $692 million in energy savings and emissions reduction
- 5.7 million tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions avoided
- $3.20 being returned to Albertans for every $1 invested in energy efficiency
We’re excited about the province’s energy efficiency potential and will keep you updated as more information becomes available. In the meantime, if you have questions, we’re here. Email us at email@example.com or call 1-844-357-5604.
